It’s going to be a long weekend of sweet tarts. We have a big studio set up with mentors, instructors and rotation of models for Saturday and Sunday. We hope you look for more photos to be posted. We are all packed and ready to pick up the pastries tomorrow. We did have one model cancel and replaced in the same hour. There are two more openings for photographers and we are closing it tomorrow at noon.

Let’s talk Kids Story Book photo shoot. It’s next weekend and we are really excited about trying our some new techniques with the kids.

We have about 12 kids signed up and we still have a few openings available for photographers on Feb 27th.

Last weekend we got to test our some three point lighting techniques; with some bribery of pizza and gas money, Brittany came over to be the test model for this activity. Here are a few from that shoot.




We met up with Dixie on the Beach to do the SOS AD shoot. We just kicked it off the Swimsuit Mega Photo Shoot. Here is the AD for it. We are doing Model Calls on different Sites for this SOS Mega Photo Shoot.


Ohhhh you missed a Great ALICE shoot if you didn’t see the photos posted. Here are a few from ALICE. We are looking to do a repeat ALICE photo shoot soon. We had Alice on the coolest day in TX. Well, almost the coolest day.

We are starting this entry with all photos of the models that are attending the Big Doll, little Girl Studio workshop set for March. Photographers please sign up fast so you don't miss out on this workshop. We plan to bring in the older models first for makeup and hair because they will take the longest. Then as the photographers are warming up their cameras with the older models dressed as Children Toy Dolls, the little models will be arriving for makeup and Hair. We will then set them up in a rotation of photos. This workshop is in a studio that will be limited to how many photographers we are allowing to register. You don’t want to miss this one, we plan to have all types of doll; raggedy Ann, Barbie, puppets dolls, Fashion dolls, Paper Dolls, (we might try for a bawled manikin doll) lol

The Sweet Tart Pinup workshop for Feb 20th is full with 15 photographers and 10 models registered to come. We are looking forward to hosting this.

It’s only, five more days until Alice in the looking Glass workshop. We have a big crowd coming and some amazing Talent signed up. We only have a few slots left for photographers and then it will close on Wednesday. We checked out the location for details this Sunday. The weather for Saturday will be cool in the morning but we are starting around High noon, so it will be a Perfect Day.



Photo above is Tina from a Model Photo Shoot on Sunday. She wants to get into modeling and this was her first Modeling Photo Shoot. She and another model came to a Cos-Play concept Shoot set up by Photographer Jerry Bishop. It was great to see some old friends and meet some new ones.

Texas Motion Picture Alliance is having it’s Valentine's Day GALA at The Bell Tower on 34th Street in Houston. Yesterday’s workshop for the WOW3 was just smooth and amazing. We have about forty of us. The Makeup Artists out did themselves. We had a few new MUA’s come out and work on some detailed Beauty finishes on the models that came. We usually give the makeup artist two hours in advance before each workshop but we could only get in at 6am and they could board the ship at 7am. The 5 makeup artists did their best to knock out the models by then and ran a little over 7:30 by the time they finished up their last model. The photographers were all set up by then and ready to shoot. The ship alone is just breath-taking and you add models, is like adding water. Lol

We had a guest Pro-Wedding Photographer / Pro Instructor come to model on the other side of the camera for us. He was a trooper with instructing the models in some amazing photos to add to your portfolio.

This was the sunrise in Fredericksburg at the Ranch we are renting for our signature weekend on April 9-11, 2010.

We spent a weekend up there in a cabin with no TV or Internet. After sitting at the fireplace drinking wine, we decided since we are photographers, to capture the moment. One hour later, this is the photo we captured. lol


We went to visit a bat cave and did a few photo walks. Then we went looking for the famous town near by. LUCKENBACH, tx

White outdoor wedding (3rd edition) is about to happen next Sunday in Galveston on Jan 17th on the Ellisa Ship. We closed the event. We have a few new dresses ready for the models. We will be doing a Trash the Dress after the workshop on the Strand in Galveston.

The holidays were a blur since everyone was sick at our house. It happens and all is well.

We did a product shoot with Candace for her Candy Coated Designs. She was a hoot to work with. Here are a few of her photos we want to share. We shoot on Hi-key white paper and I added color to many of the photos.

We kicked off our Hill Country Ranch – Signature Photography/Modeling Weekend Get-a-way Workshop. The cost includes shooting all weekend, lodging and meals. We have six models attending with their own personal makeup artist. The event will shooting to the next F-Stop in Photography with Inside Glamour, Swimsuit by the pool, Western Pinup, High Fashion on Enchanted Rock, Beauty Portraits and Commercial Instructional Seminars. SMILE!!! Today is our Wedding Anniversary; many people already know our story but we met on-line. Can you believe it? It was on Yahoo if anyone wants to know. We talked for a few months and then it was Chemistry that broke us both. We think the three keys to any health relationship is smell good, dress nice and tell them what’s on your mind. Well, for some of us it’s just pure chemistry and it works. lol

Last weekend was cold and foggy out by it didn’t stop the Haute Couture Holiday Shoot. One model; Dixie said it was the best shoot she’s been to yet. That is amazing to hear. The whole location with models, makeup artists and attire was surreal. This is where we post of few of our photos and we will but we have to post a photo of Mark Matthews. He never seems to stop amazing us. He takes it all to a different level than us.

Save the Date (SDS) photos are almost finished; above are a few from the event of the models that worked the event. They are true professionals to work with other models they didn’t know.

This weekend Dec 12th, we are gearing up at the same location of the SDS to do the HCH; we have a few more slots open to photographers. A week ago we worked with a young vintage stylist that needed photos for her upcoming web site. We tethered our camera to a computer to view the photos instantly to get them right with no editing so she could leave with a CD in her hand. We did this with the help of Ray Keeling Photographer. We worked a half a day capturing three different looks from each wardrobe. The stylist Andreanna Williams with Retro Style Clothing is looking to sell her collections online soon; we will announce her web site on an advertisement on the OTS E-magazine.

The Save the Date was amazing. The location was breath-taking. We can’t wait to go back. We have already decided to do the HCH and Alice in the looking Glass Workshop there. The models last weekend were so professional they knew exactly what to do; All we had to do was snap. We loved meeting Marlowe that flew in from Boston to attend our workshop. The location had a house/Studio that let us use to get ready in and do studio photos.





Can you believe it’s almost the end of the year? We have parties, events and workshops listed on our calendar and we are about to kick off our next few months of new workshops. Can you believe we have some great new workshops coming up that we are about to announce. Of course I’m sure they have been done before but it’s just new to us with a twist and flare. This must was full of DOD, MMM2 and the SDSO; I’m backlogged on photos and will get them done this week.

We are having our Engagement and wedding bridal photo shoot workshop this Saturday in Needville. Most everyone has asked where is Needville. It’s not too far from Sugar Land, but the location is amazing. We are thinking of having our HCH there if it’s available to rent. We have lots of models female and male lined up with lots of wedding dresses to supply the need of photos options. This is going to be a 2pm to sunset shoot with amazing opportunities for photos. I’m looking forward to doing this. We have someone that flew in from Boston to attend; that has got to be a record of long distance travel to our workshop.

We have a few more opening left for photographers to sign up today only for the SDS Wedding workshop photo shoot.

Today we are headed to Professional Headshots for a local company’s web site. Lights are pack and we are ready to go. We wanted to take a few minutes to blog since we missed a week off from the flu.

But I had a great reason, promise! :p The last month or so has... Okay, so obviously I stopped blogging at Day 5 or so on my 30 days of working out. But I had a great reason, promise! :p The last month or so has been the busiest, craziest months that I can remember. The plant where I work went into outage, which was expected; but it has been the busiest outage here that anyone can recall, even those that have worked here for 20 years! I can do getting up at 4:30 am to workout... but 3:30 am? Forget it. Add to that kids getting sick several times, husband out of town until December, going to work in the middle of the night, and a midnight mad dash to dallas - where we attempted to catch some sleep on the hospital floor (cold!) - to deal with a family emergency (everyone's fine now)and I finally admit it -- I'm exhausted! :o
But there was a big bright spot in the middle of all of this... DOD!!! The second annual Dramatic Outdoor Dolls workshop photoshoot and one of my favorite workshops ever. The models and photographers that were there worked together seamlessly, everyone constantly busy clicking and posing and flashing (the photogs, not the models!). The MUA was Miss Kendall, and she completely rocked! The outfits were killer and the end results are fabulous! I'm sure you've already been there, but many of the photos are posted on the forum here under workshops.
Alright, now that I've updated you guys, I better get back to work!! Unfortunately, this stuff won't enter itself on the computer... how cool would that be? But first! I am going to go and get some breakfast. I'll take the stairs. Yeah that probably doesn't read to well, but this week was good for the family around here...well okay, good for the kiddo!

So I've spent the week, or at least when I can, editing pics from DOD2 and some TRF work as well. Still have lots to go with that though so keep checking back, I hope to have some more stuff this week and be done with DOD2 images soon. I'll contact models with the link at that time (if you haven't found it already).

Thursday was Keirsten's weekly volleyball game. They hosted Thorton Middle School, and in great fashion the girls managed their first win!!! They'd won a game before, but never the match. Thursday they won convincingly 2-0:D. Congrats to Keirsten and the rest of her team. They've been working hard and she was really excited to get her first win.
Here they are celebrating their first win!


In addition to Keirsten's team winning, both of the other squads won as well giving her school a clean sweep!

Well that wasn't the end of her winning. I had tossed around the idea of going out to the Renaissance Festival again on Saturday, and had waivered a little bit. I finally broke down late Friday and said yeah we'd go. Keirsten had her pirate costume from the Pirate shoot back in January, some of you might remember this. So she wanted to dress up as a Pirate since it was Pirate weekend. Well the Ren Faire does a costume contest each weekend based around the theme of the weekend and Keirsten wanted to enter. So we made our way over to the Arena so she could enter. There was a lot of contestants, both adults and kids. Keirsten managed to win the contest for "Best Dressed Pirate in the 12 and under category". We were really excited and Keirsten loved it. After the win she was paraded from the Arena to the front of the park to get all her information, and then at closing ceremonies for the day she was presented to the King and Queen of the Faire. This really made her day, and she was really excited to have won.

So for all my loyal readers you know what MMB is, but do you know DOD and TRF?

Well let's start with DOD! Dramatic Outdoor Dolls...yep, that's right this year's DOD Workshop! That's DOD 2 for those of you attempting to follow along at home (and why are you following at home and not shooting with us?)

TRF, yeah that'd be the Texas Renaissance Festival!!! Yep, it's that time of the year again. Lots of pics to come folks...lots of pics.

So since we last talked we had yet another volleyball game, we're still working on a win for our girls, but they're trying and Keirsten is having a blast. She loves playing volleyball, and she's got a great friend on one of the teams so that makes it better. This week we played at a school who's logo reminded me of the old school 1980's cartoon "Thundercats":D, yes folks I am a child of the 80's and I do not deny it. Sue me!;)

So Saturday was The Photo Binder's workshop DOD2. This is the 2nd annual DOD shoot. Last year's shoot had some really great makeup, some awesome locations and gave us some really wonderful images. This year was no exception. The models who came out were absolutely exceptional!!!! We made some wonderful images.

So, DOD images you say? Well here's a couple for you to mull over until I get around to putting up the rest of them.




I must extend many a thanks to Chris Ford. Chris wasn't shooting this weekend, but he was nice enough to bring his lights out and let me use them and help out with holding reflectors or scrims etc. Chris, thanks again. I think we got some great stuff and your assistance was greatly appreciated.

So I'm sure at this point you're wondering where we went to dinner afterwards...since I know you read the MMB to hear about our misadventures at after workshop meals right? Well as it stands this time, Marc decided I was no longer welcome at aftershoot meals as I seem to be a very bad luck charm:(. Okay, so he was joking, and we worked it out;). Well a group of us headed to Joe's Crab Shak, same place we at last year after the DOD. We were seated and all was going well. Until the food arrived!!! Like you expected things to go smoothly right??? Well I got my order last, much to the chagrin of Marc who immediately thought we were in for another instance like our Chili's escapade earlier this year. We waited, and my food was finally delivered. I looked it over, and oops...go figure, something is missing. So I mention it to the waitress who immediately corrects the oversight and we're rocking and rolling. So we all eat and enjoy good conversation and company and we're ready to head out. We head outside and we're saying our goodbyes when Photographer Michelle O. comes up asking if anyone has jumper cables:eek:. It appears that Michelle was in need of a jump start. So I dug out my cables, and took care of Michelle. We were then finally able to depart as planned.

On Sunday the family decided we needed to visit the Texas Renaissance Festival. I wanted to take a lot of photos, and I did. I found some great subjects, including the son of another one of our great photographer friends Cindy Abbot. I found some great subjects at the Ren Faire to shoot, and I will be returning in a few weeks and hope to find some more.

Here is the youngest child from Saturdays Product Shoot. This is Wade in a flight suit.

16 OTS Kids from size 0-8 boys and girls came out last Saturday for their 20 product shoot to wear clothes for Ava Grace Children’s Boutique in Sugar Land. It was an amazing day. Every child brought something different and unique to each photo. They all took direction perfectly and because of the 20 time frame per child, it was more than enough time for each to get more than one amazing photo from it. We are blessed to hear that the boutique has asked us to come back when their new season comes in.

A few lucky kids will be picked for the slots in the OTS E-Magazine. It is coming out soon, so look for those little ones faces.

The Teen Vogue Shoot Sunday was SPECTACULAR; I asked the teens to come in some Pastel Fashion covered Head to Toe and they looked amazing. We had teen guys that impressed us just the same. We had studio lighting set up inside that some took advantage of. We had a client after the shoot and found that our studio lightings didn’t work anymore, so we are really upset that no one told us they no long work. We had to do some fast thinking with our client to get adequate lighting for them.

DOD2 is this Saturday and it will be amazing. We have five awesome MUAs lined up to blow us away with their talents. The models are all over 18 and professionals. We have a few surprises like a fog machine and a few BIG props to work around. This is one workshop that you won’t want to miss this year.
